Improving patient recovery pays big health dividends. Participating in a cardiac rehabilitation program after a heart attack, for example, lowers subsequent death rates by 50%. Managing your risk factors after heart disease or stroke is vital to preventing further incidents.

Our action plan:
- Partner with survivors and their care partners, supporting and connecting them to achieve the best recovery and quality of life possible and prevent future events.
- Reach at least 50% of stroke survivors and 35% of heart disease survivors with our recovery resources.
- Fund world-leading research on stroke recovery through the Heart & Stroke Foundation Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery.
- Support survivors through programs including Living With Stroke.
