Heart & Stroke is pleased to welcome Katie Greene to its executive team as senior vice president, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
“Katie is skilled in strategic planning and is a fundraising expert with a breadth of experience in donor relations, major gifts, community events and annual giving,” says Heart & Stroke’s CEO, Doug Roth. “With her ability to motivate high-performing teams that exemplify our organization’s values, Katie will be a wonderful addition to our executive team and will help us forge strong and meaningful partnerships across the Atlantic region where she has lived and worked for years.”
Greene will be part of the executive team at Heart & Stroke, leading a dedicated team of employees and leadership volunteers who support fundraising and mission efforts in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, while contributing strategic, regional and provincial insight to the national planning process to drive mission impact across the country.
“I am really looking forward to being part of this team that is committed to understanding the distinctive health landscape of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island,” says Greene. “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to give voice to the area’s unique needs and help people right across the country experience better health outcomes when it comes to heart disease and stroke, conditions that have touched my family personally.”
Before joining Heart & Stroke, Greene was executive director at United Way Newfoundland and Labrador, where she was instrumental in launching the 211 information system which connects the people of Newfoundland and Labrador to community-based non-emergency health supports. Prior to that, she successfully led the annual giving team at Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic through a time of key strategic growth.
Greene is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE International) and has been a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for several years and is currently treasurer of the AFP Canada board.
